The Travelling Companion

Overview

Lucas sits in the corner of a carriage on a branch line train pottering through the countryside. To the girl on her way for a day by the sea who joins him in the compartment, he seems a rather pathetic figure – lame, shy, ill at ease and anxious not to offend. Who could be more harmless?
