Overview

Zemlinsky's Die Seejungfrau, based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid, is followed by Brahms's German Requiem, written in memory of his mother and his friend and supporter, Robert Schumann. James Conlon conducts the BBC Symphony Chorus and Orchestra and the Philharmonic Chorus. Hosted by Charles Hazlewood. The concert is also live on BBC Radio 3 from 6.30pm. New.
